ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking fulltime Welders/Fabricators to perform high-quality welding and fabrication on mild steel structures such as structural and secondary framing, portal frame structures, architectural installations, space frames and metalworks in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and relevant standards. The role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards while contributing to overall project delivery and team performance.

These roles will have overtime available if wanted and will come with double time allowances.

Based on your performance and suitability to the role there is chance for casual employees to convert to permanent roles.

Some of the tasks will include but not be limited to:

- Welding Techniques:



Perform MIG including flux-cored and metal-cored welding techniques to join metal components based on project requirements

- Fabrication experience is highly desired but not critical for the role

- Component Preparation: Prepare, cut, grind and clean steel parts/shafts using, angle grinders and power tools to ensure proper surface preparation before welding

- Component fabrication: Prepare, cut, mitre, punch, press/fold, crop and prepare steel parts/shafts using, bandsaws, croppers, punch and other power tools .

ABOUT YOU

- Experience with fillet and butt welds in 2G and 3G using solid wire, metalcore and dual shield flux-core.

- Fabrication experience with heavy rolled and cold formed sections is an advantage though not essential.

- Work to a high standard with knowledge of AS 5131 / AS 1554 / ISO 9606

- Knowledge of weld procedure specifications (WPS), qualification and competency

- Knowledge of preheat requirements on welded connections

- Be capable of passing welder qualification test (WQT) under supervision of weld supervisor. This is a mandatory pre-qualification requirement undertaken at our workshop prior to employment.

- Experience with SMAW welding highly desirable

- Works well with others, team orientated environment.

- RG/DG ticket highly desired
