About the role

We’re looking for a skilled Boilermaker / Welder to join our workshop team at Bendigo. You’ll be responsible for the fabrication and welding of vacuum tanker equipment, working with both stainless steel and mild steel.

Your day-to-day work will include:

- Welding and fabricating vacuum tanker equipment
- MIG and TIG welding of stainless steel and mild steel
- Welding dissimilar metals, including mild steel to stainless steel
- Oxy cutting and other workshop fabrication tasks
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Operating overhead gantry cranes and workshop equipment
- Working safely at heights when required
- Completing time recording and quality documentation
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Working as part of a team while also being able to work independently
- Using practical problem-solving skills to find effective solutions

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with:





- Previous experience in welding and metal fabrication
- Strong MIG welding skills, particularly with stainless steel
- TIG welding experience with stainless steel – desirable
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with oxy cutting and general fabrication
- Ability to successfully complete our weld testing as part of the recruitment process
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience operating overhead gantry cranes
- Current Working at Heights certification – preferred
- Current driver’s licence
- Forklift licence – desirable, but not essential
- A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork
