KEY PURPOSE
The Payroll Officer is responsible for the delivery of high-quality fortnightly payroll for 300+ employees, ensuring accurate processing of salaries in a time-sensitive manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- End-to-end payroll processing of 300+ employees on a fortnightly basis using KeyPay.
- Respond to payroll queries and process payroll amendments accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reports for internal and external reviews and compliance requirements.
- Reconciliation and payment of all payroll related payments, eg Superannuation, Salary packaging, PAYG etc.
- ATO/STP payroll compliance.
- Leave maintenance and payments including CSI portable long service levy calculations and reimbursements.
- Workers' compensation claims, payments and reconciliations
- Work collaboratively with HR and Rostering teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
- Participate in the testing,
implementation and review of payroll system changes, upgrades, integrations and new functionality
SELECTION CRITERIA
Minimum of 3 years in payroll processing in payroll team office environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Exceptional attention to detail & accuracy
Sound ability to interpret awards (SCHADS) and relevant legislation
Demonstrated computer skills particularly regarding MicroPay (essential) WageEasy (desirable)
Dedication to maintaining confidential information
Solid understanding of payroll legislation and processes
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Ability to work with competing deadlines
Time management skills and ability to prioritise and plan
National Police Check or the willingness to obtain one
