Senior Building Surveyor

Broadmeadows Location | $54 per hour + Super | Contract until December 2026

We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join a busy local government workplace on a contract basis through to December 2026. This role is ideal for a qualified and registered Building Surveyor who can confidently manage building control matters, conduct inspections, provide technical advice, and apply Victorian building legislation with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct building inspections, investigations, assessments and compliance activities.
- Provide expert advice on Victorian building legislation, regulations, codes and standards.
- Assess permits, approvals, consents, reports and related building control applications.
- Prepare professional correspondence, notices, reports and recommendations.
- Liaise with stakeholders including contractors, building professionals, regulatory authorities and members of the public.
- Support municipal building control functions and contribute to best-practice service delivery.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

- Registration as a Building Surveyor with the Victorian Building Authority.




- Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in building surveying, inspections and compliance investigations.
- Extensive knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations, National Construction Code and relevant Victorian legislation.
- Strong report writing and written communication skills.
- The ability to interpret legislation and provide technical advice confidently and independently.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and relevant record management systems.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
