Senior Graphic Designer – Maternity Leave 6-month Contract

Hospitality Mavens is a Sunshine Coast-based agency specialising in marketing, strategy and consulting for the hospitality industry. Formerly known as Maer Group, we've recently rebranded and continue to expand rapidly as we partner with leading clubs, pubs and hospitality venues across Australia.

About the role

We're looking for a talented and motivated Senior Graphic Designer for a 6-month maternity leave contract .

The role is a full-time in-office role only, with 1 day WFH flexibility (work from home not suitable).

You'll work closely with our Account Managers and Marketing team and lead a Graphic Designer working alongside you to deliver high-quality creative across branding, campaigns, digital advertising, website, podcast and app design.

This position offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of projects — from high-impact campaign concepts to day-to-day production artwork — with scope to help shape the creative direction of Hospitality Mavens.

Key responsibilities

- Design promotional artwork, campaign materials and venue collateral.
- Create and evolve brand identities, logos and style guides for client projects.
- Produce design concepts and assets for websites, landing pages, apps, podcast, and digital advertising.
- Develop brochures, posters and loyalty program collateral.
- Adapt and optimise creative for multiple platforms and formats.
- Maintain brand consistency across all visual communications.
- Contribute to creative ideation and concept development for campaigns.

Design Systems & Organisation

- Lead and support the transition of design work in-house,



collaborating with the team to streamline creative processes.
- Maintain an efficient file structure, asset library and version control for design projects.
- Ensure working files and templates are organised, accessible and well-documented for internal use.
- Champion best practices for creative workflow and handover between internal and external contributors.

About you

- Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
- 2-3+ years of design experience (agency or in-house).
- A strong portfolio showcasing both digital and print work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.
- Comfortable managing multiple design projects from concept to completion.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Permanent or long term work rights in Australia.

Nice to have

- Photography or videography experience
- Experience in hospitality, lifestyle or entertainment industries.
- Familiarity with digital ad creative development and web design.
- Understanding of CRM-based marketing (email/SMS) and campaign creative.
