Are you a relationship-driven Business Development or Partnerships professional who knows how to open doors, build influence and turn community connections into meaningful outcomes?
Jobs Statewide is looking for an experienced Business Development & Community Partnerships Officer to join our Youth Employment team in Melbourne.
This is more than a stakeholder engagement role. You’ll be responsible for building strategic relationships across schools, councils, community organisations, employers and youth support services to create stronger pathways into employment, education and training for young people.
Your Impact
You’ll be the face of Jobs Statewide in the community, identifying opportunities, developing partnerships and connecting our youth employment services with the organisations that can make a difference.
You will
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with high schools, councils, community organisations and youth services
- Identify and pursue new business and referral opportunities across the community
- Build robust relationships with key decision-makers, influencers and service providers
- Promote our youth employment programs to schools, community networks and young people at risk of disengagement
- Develop and deliver community engagement and partnership initiatives
- Represent Jobs Statewide at forums, expos, workshops, career events and community meetings
- Establish referral pathways with youth, health, education and support services
- Identify emerging community needs and opportunities to strengthen youth engagement
- Maintain a strong understanding of the local youth, education and employment landscape
- Work collaboratively with our employment teams to convert partnerships into meaningful outcomes for young people
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded,
highly connected and comfortable picking up the phone, walking into a meeting and opening a new door.
You’ll ideally bring
- Proven experience in business development, partnerships, stakeholder engagement or community engagement
- An established network across schools, councils, youth services, education or community organisations
- A demonstrated ability to develop new relationships and turn them into productive partnerships
- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Confidence representing an organisation at senior stakeholder and community forums
- A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to identify and pursue opportunities
- Strong local knowledge and an established community presence
- A genuine interest in helping young people overcome barriers and connect with employment, education and training
- A current full driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Melbourne metro
Experience in employment services, youth programs, education, NFP, local government or community-based business development will be highly regarded.
