About the role

As our Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility will be to identify and win new business. You'll be out in the market, speaking with business owners, building relationships, generating opportunities and closing new advertising clients.

Key responsibilities

- Prospecting for new business across Melbourne
- Cold calling and approaching local businesses
- Visiting businesses face-to-face
- Speaking directly with business owners and decision-makers
- Generating your own leads and building a sales pipeline
- Booking meetings and presenting our advertising solutions
- Preparing quotes and proposals
- Negotiating and closing new accounts
- Following up consistently with prospective customers
- Maintaining accurate records of prospects and opportunities

About you

- Strong communication skills
- A confident and outgoing personality
- Excellent phone manner
- The ability to speak comfortably with business owners
- A high level of resilience and persistence
- Strong organisation and follow-up skills
- A positive, energetic attitude
- A valid Australian driver's licence




- Your own reliable vehicle, or access to one
- Previous sales, business development, advertising or B2B experience is advantageous but not essential
