APD Design is a Melbourne‑based renovation and cabinetry company specialising in custom kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, wardrobes, and interior joinery. As part of its end‑to‑end renovation service, the company designs, manufactures, and installs bespoke cabinetry tailored to each client’s space, lifestyle, and renovation goals.

The business combines modern design with high‑quality craftsmanship, producing custom‑made kitchen cabinetry, storage solutions, vanities, benchtops, and joinery components in its workshop. APD Design delivers premium renovation outcomes through accurate fabrication, quality materials, and seamless installation across residential projects.

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team and contribute to the production and installation of high‑quality custom cabinetry for our renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Interpretation of Plans: Study and interpret design plans, measurements, and project specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and fabrication requirements.
- Cabinet Fabrication: Manufacture custom kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, vanities, and bespoke joinery items according to detailed plans and specifications.
- Material Selection: Select appropriate timbers, boards, veneers, hardware, and finishes that meet project requirements and quality standards.
- Assembly & Installation: Assemble, fit, and install cabinetry on‑site as part of kitchen, bathroom, and laundry renovation projects.
- Workshop Operations: Operate woodworking machinery, hand tools,



and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Quality Control: Ensure all cabinetry meets high standards of accuracy, finish, and durability.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform adjustments, repairs, and refinishing of cabinetry when required.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with designers, installers, and project managers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all workshop and on‑site safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised workspace.

Required Skills, Education & Experience Education: Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in Cabinet Making / Furniture Making / Joinery.

Experience:

- Minimum 3+ years Australian experience; OR
- Minimum 3+ years overseas experience in cabinetmaking or joinery.

Specialisation: Cabinetmaker Work Rights: Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents preferred. Applicants with full work rights may apply if they meet all criteria.

Skills:

- Strong proficiency with woodworking machinery, tools, and modern cabinetmaking techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce precise, high‑quality cabinetry.
- Strong understanding of joinery construction methods and materials.

Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, high‑finish work. Communication: Effective interpersonal skills for working with designers, installers, and clients.

Problem‑Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and propose practical solutions.

Pay: $79,500.00 – $100,500.00 per year
