The opportunity We're seeking applications from an Introduction Into Service (IIS) SME to support a Defence capability program in Canberra. You will coordinate and assure capability transition activities across assigned capability streams, ensuring delivered capabilities are ready for operational employment and backed by the right sustainment, training, workforce and governance arrangements.

What you'll do

- Develop and maintain Introduction into Service plans, schedules and readiness artefacts
- Coordinate sustainment, training, workforce, logistics and support system inputs required for capability transition
- Assess and report on capability readiness status, identifying and managing associated risks and issues
- Support capability transition from acquisition and delivery into operational service in line with capability realisation frameworks and Defence policy
- Engage Functional Commands, capability managers, sustainment organisations and industry partners to coordinate transition inputs
- Prepare reports, briefs and documentation for governance and readiness forums




- Analyse transition dependencies and support synchronisation of readiness activities across the broader program
- Contribute to capability transition assurance activities and readiness reporting

What we're looking for

- Demonstrated experience in Introduction into Service, capability transition, sustainment planning or capability readiness activities
- Sound understanding of the Defence Capability Lifecycle and Capability Realisation Framework
- Experience coordinating transition activities across multiple stakeholders and organisations
- Experience developing readiness assessments, transition plans or related governance artefacts
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of briefs and governance documentation
