About the Role

Career Consultants collaborate with Faculty partners to integrate and embed career and life design into the curriculum. The team provides consultation and expert advice in scaffolding career development learning in the course and student experience.

You will design, tailor and facilitate engaging learning experiences across multiple formats, including in‑class sessions, online learning, group coaching, and one‑on‑one career consultations.

The team partner with faculty stakeholders to identify opportunities to embed and scaffold career education in courses and apply contemporary career development and adult learning principles to support high‑quality learning outcomes.

You will also collaborate with Employability Coordinators and the broader UTS Careers team to ensure students receive consistent, aligned support across the curriculum and co‑curriculum. They participate in the delivery of employability initiatives and work as an integrated member of UTS Careers, supporting other activities as required.

We are currently hiring for two positions:

1. A full time, fixed term position until November 2027
2. A full time, continuing position

If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with faculty stakeholders for the integration of career development learning in curriculum
- Design, deliver,



and evaluate engaging and inclusive career education that supports student learning and is informed by contemporary career development and adult learning principles.
- Provide tailored individual and group career support, ensuring diverse student needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with Employability Coordinators and the broader UTS Careers team towards achieving UTS Careers Strategic goals.

Please note: The Careers Consultant is required to hold a valid Working With Children Check.

With examples, please outline in a separate document, how you meet the following key selection criteria:

1. Demonstrated expertise in career development learning, including the ability to apply career and life design methodology and contemporary adult learning theories within a higher education context.
2. Extensive experience designing and facilitating engaging, inclusive, and innovative career development learning, delivered across multiple modalities, including asynchronous, synchronous, online, and in‑person environments.
3. Proven experience providing one‑on‑one career consultations, demonstrating responsiveness to diverse student needs and the ability to support students at different stages of their career development.
4. Demonstrated ability to proactively build collaborative relationships with academic and professional staff, including the capacity to communicate effectively, negotiate priorities, and provide expert advice within complex faculty environments to embed and scaffold career development learning in the curriculum.
5. A collaborative and proactive approach to working as part of a team, including the ability to share expertise, contribute to collective goals,



and work effectively with colleagues to support high‑quality career education and services for students.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $ 111,740 - $143,166 pa (HEW7/8)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
