You'll work alongside GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Nurses and Allied Health professionals, providing culturally safe, person-centred care within a busy and supportive multidisciplinary clinic.

About the Role

As a Practice Nurse , you'll provide hands-on nursing care across a broad range of primary health activities, supporting clients with preventative health, chronic disease management, health assessments, care planning and treatment room services.

You'll work closely with GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Allied Health professionals and other members of the clinical team , helping provide coordinated and culturally safe care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and families.

The position is permanent part-time , with regular weekday hours and the opportunity to work additional hours from time to time to provide annual leave relief for other members of the nursing team.

For an Enrolled Nurse , duties will be undertaken within your scope of practice and appropriate clinical supervision arrangements.

What You’ll Be Doing

Clinical Care

Provide high-quality, culturally safe nursing care within scope of practice

Support chronic disease management, preventative health and early intervention

Assist with health assessments, care planning, recalls and follow-up

Undertake treatment room procedures within scope

Provide wound care and dressings

Support immunisation activities where appropriately qualified and authorised

Assist GPs and other clinicians with procedures

Respond to client clinical needs and escal

Client Engagement & Preventative Health

Help clients engage with health services and treatment plans

Support health education and preventative health initiatives

Encourage early intervention and healthy lifestyle strategies

Build respectful relationships with clients and families

Contribute to culturally safe and person-centred care

Working as Part of the Clinical Team

Work collaboratively with GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Nurses and Allied Health professionals

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using Best Practice

Support coordinated care across Carbal's programs and services

Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities

Maintain high standards of infection control, clinical safety and professional practice

The existing role encompasses clinical care, chronic disease management, health assessments, preventative health and collaborative multidisciplinary practice. 2026 Registered Nurse

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You…

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse

Diploma of Nursing (EN), Bachelor of Nursing (RN), or recognised equivalent qualification

Experience in primary care, general practice,



community health or a related clinical environment or a willingness to develop your skills in primary health care

Strong clinical, communication and documentation skills

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Commitment to providing culturally safe care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients

Ability to manage your workload and respond to changing clinical priorities

Confidence using clinical systems and technology

Current QLD C Class Driver Licence

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Capacity to provide additional annual leave relief from time to time would be highly regarded

Highly Regarded

Experience in general practice or primary health care

Experience in chronic disease management and care planning

Wound care experience

Experience using Best Practice or similar clinical software

Previous experience within an Aboriginal Medical Service or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
