The Opportunity

Our client is an outstanding employment lawyer at the Principal level (Partner-equivalent level). In this senior leadership role, you will take ownership of sophisticated client relationships and steer complex, high-stakes matters across the full employment lifecycle. This role will offer freedom and autonomy and part-time options (3 or 4 days a week) are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Advisory & Litigation: Deliver high-level counsel on, for example, complex industrial relations, post-employment restraints, work health & safety litigation,



and high-profile discrimination or harassment disputes.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as a trusted adviser to corporate entities, human resource directors, and senior executives.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and collaborate with talented junior and mid-level lawyers to foster their professional growth.
- Firm Contribution: Play an active role in strategic practice development.

About You

- Experience: You are a senior practitioner (likely 8+ years PQE) currently operating as a Partner, Special Counsel, or high-performing Senior Associate in a respected workplace relations practice.
- Technical Excellence: Superior technical expertise across Australian employment and industrial relations law, with a strong track record in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
- Leadership & Vibe: A collaborative mentor who aligns with the firm's core values.
- Portability (Optional but respected): A portable practice is not strictly required, but an ability to nurture and expand corporate client networks is highly valued.
