About the role

The Payroll Officer processes weekly wages and salaries, maintains payroll records, and provides support across payroll, human resources, and workers compensation functions.

- Process weekly wages and salaries within specified timeframes
- Maintain up to date knowledge of agreements, awards and contract interpretation in relation to leave entitlements, overtime, allowances
- Assist with processing workers compensation payments and reconciliations
- Assist with payment and monthly reconciliation of payroll, superannuation payments, payroll deductions and PAYG
- Compile statistics,



reports and forecasts for Payroll, Safety, Human Resources and Operations departments
- Calculate and maintain records of leave accruals
- Set up new payroll employees and timesheets
- Update and maintain payroll records
- Liaise with employees and management on payroll inquiries

About you

- 2+ years Payroll Experience using Sage Micropay
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to understand and interpret awards and legislation
- Problem solving ability, analytical and numeracy skills
- Strong business acumen
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience reporting with the use of Excel
- Positive organisation skills
