District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are looking for an experienced and compassionate leader to manage our Carer Support Unit and champion the recognition and support of carers across the Central Coast.

About The Opportunity

As the Manager Carer Support Unit, you will lead a dedicated team focused on improving the responsiveness of CCLHD to the needs of carers and ensuring carers are recognised as essential partners in healthcare. This role is critical in driving the implementation of the NSW Carers Recognition Act 2010 and NSW Health Recognition and Support for Carers: Key Directions 2024-2028.

Role

You will provide strategic leadership, advocacy and operational management to ensure carers receive the support, information and recognition they deserve. In this role you will:

- Lead and manage the Carer Support Units, including staffing, performance, resource and budget management.
- Build strong partnerships with carers, community organisations, government agencies and peak bodies to improve support and engagement opportunities.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives that enhance the patient and carer experience and contribute to service innovation.
- Develop, implement and review policies, procedures and education programs that promote carer recognition and support across the District.
- Provide strategic advice and reporting to Executive and Ministry stakeholders regarding program outcomes, activity and funding.
- Represent the Carer Support Units at committees, working groups, forums and community networks.
- Promote inclusive, accessible and culturally appropriate services for carers from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and CALD communities.
- Lead awareness, advocacy and engagement activities that increase the visibility and recognition of carers throughout CCLHD.

About You





We are looking for someone who has:

- Qualifications in a relevant health, community services, social sciences or related field, with professional registration where applicable.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, resources, budgets and service delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across government, health and community sectors.
- Experience in policy development, program management, reporting and quality improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, advocacy and influencing skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- A sound understanding of the challenges carers face and a commitment to improving their experience within the healthcare system.
- Experience promoting inclusive and culturally responsive services for diverse communities.
- A demonstrated commitment to the values and behaviours of NSW Health and the Caring for the Coast vision.

Essential Requirements

- Current NSW Driver Licence and ability to maintain same.
- Working With Children Check and Aged Care Checks.
- Category A Immunisation Status.
- Qualifications in a relevant field and maintenance of any relevant professional registration as applicable.
