Casual Positions Available – Cellar Door Sales Assistants & Kitchen Hand

Main & Cherry is a boutique cellar door nestled in Chandlers Hill, at the northern edge of the McLaren Vale wine region and the gateway to the Fleurieu Peninsula.

We've built something special over the past three years: a relaxed, welcoming space where people come to enjoy beautiful wines, local food, and great company.

We're now looking to expand our friendly team and are recruiting for two different casual positions:

- Cellar Door Sales Assistants – Front of House / Hospitality

- Kitchen Hand – Back of House / Kitchen

You can apply for either position, depending on your experience and interests.

1. Cellar Door Sales Assistant – Front of House

We're looking for friendly, reliable people who are passionate about wine and enjoy creating great experiences for guests.

You’ll take pride in valuable service and be comfortable working in a busy environment while keeping things calm, welcoming and personable.

You'll stand out if you have:

- A current RSA certificate

- Availability on weekends and public holidays

- Experience in cellar doors or hospitality

- Confidence conducting wine tastings and engaging with guests

- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A positive, "can do" attitude




- An interest in wine and a willingness to continue developing your wine knowledge

- POS experience (an advantage)

- Food handling or barista skills (desirable)

- Ability to carry 3 plates

Day-to-day, you'll:

- Host wine tastings and drive wine sales

- Deliver food and wine to tables

- Sign up new Cherry Club members

- Pack and dispatch wine orders

- Handle bookings and customer enquiries

- Keep the cellar door spotless, organised and welcoming

2. Kitchen Hand – Back of House

We're also looking for a casual Kitchen Hand to assist our Chef in our busy cellar door kitchen.

This is a separate back-of-house position from the Cellar Door Sales Assistant role and would suit someone who enjoys working in a kitchen environment and supporting a small team.

Key requirements:

- Assist our Chef with food preparation and basic cooking tasks according to recipes and quality standards

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen

- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required

- Whilst some kitchen experience is preferred, we also welcome applicants who are looking to gain experience in a kitchen setting

- Ability to stand for long periods and carry heavy items such as ingredients and cooking equipment

- Australian working rights
