The Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business is seeking an Executive Director, Technology. Supporting shared corporate services for more than 83,000 public servants across 51 Queensland Government departments and agencies, you will lead the modernisation and transformation of the systems and technologies that underpin critical government services.

Working across a complex technology setting, you will provide strategic leadership for technology initiatives and operational services, partnering with senior leaders, agencies and vendors to deliver secure, reliable and customer-focused solutions. This is an opportunity to drive large-scale transformation and influence technology outcomes across government.

Your Responsibilities

- Lead the development and implementation of system modernisation and transformation initiatives that support organisational priorities and improve service delivery.
- Develop and lead teams to deliver contemporary, reliable, secure and available technology solutions that meet the diverse business needs of end users.
- Apply and share technical expertise to ensure solutions are designed, delivered and supported in line with industry best practice methodologies, leveraging emerging technologies to realise organisational and sector-wide benefits.
- Collaborate strategically with customers, agencies, vendors and stakeholders to ensure system solutions are developed and supported with a customer and business focus, enabling agencies to focus on their core business.
- Lead diverse and professional teams, driving a culture of collaboration,



performance and innovation that brings out the best in our people, and supporting people to develop in line with the changing work environment.
- Ensure that practices for budget and resource management, procurement and vendor engagement, people leadership, assurance and audit issue management, and performance reporting are responsive, agile and mature.

The ideal candidate

Role

You will be a senior executive leader with a strong record of achievement in strategic reform, customer experience and service transformation. To excel in this role, you will bring:

- Experience in leading transformation and large technology projects, supported by strong project management capability and experience.
- Strategic and operational judgement, with the ability to translate customer focused strategy into practical action through effective use of contemporary and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to engage with industry and public sector agencies at all levels to foster collaboration, co-design and business focussed solutions.
- Solid senior leadership capability, with the ability to drive a collective outcome focus through diverse teams and deliver successful results.
- Curiosity, innovation and sound judgement, with the ability to respectfully and courageously set new directions and ways of working.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and development to effectively meet and manage the professional challenges of today and the future.
