General Manager – Fire & Technical Services

Aurex Group is partnering with a global technical services business to appoint a General Manager to lead its Victorian operations.

This is a senior leadership position with end-to-end accountability for the performance of the business, spanning P&L;, operations, growth, customer relationships, safety and people leadership.

Operating within the fire services sector, the business provides ongoing maintenance, minor works, projects and technical services to a diverse client base. The incoming General Manager will lead an established operation and drive its next phase of growth while maintaining strong operational, safety and service standards.

The Role

Reporting to a senior regional executive, the General Manager will have overall responsibility for the Victorian business and lead multidisciplinary operational, technical and support teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Full ownership of revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, margins, budgeting and forecasting
- Developing and executing the Victorian business and growth strategy
- Driving new revenue across maintenance, minor works and project opportunities
- Improving customer retention, contract renewals and penetration across existing accounts
- Leading operational delivery across a portfolio of client contracts and projects
- Building senior relationships with key customers and acting as a trusted adviser across compliance, risk and asset performance
- Driving productivity, workforce utilisation and operational efficiency
- Leading and developing operational, technical and administrative teams
- Maintaining a strong safety culture across employees, subcontractors and field operations
- Ensuring appropriate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management
- Using data, systems and performance insights to improve commercial and operational decision-making




- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement and innovation initiatives

About You

We are seeking an experienced senior leader who has managed a sizeable operational or technical services business with genuine commercial

accountability.

You will ideally bring:

- Significant senior leadership experience within fire services, technical services, facilities management, building services or another asset-intensive service environment
- Demonstrated P&L; ownership and accountability for revenue, profitability, budgeting and forecasting
- A track record of delivering business growth, margin improvement and operational performance
- Experience leading multidisciplinary operational and technical teams
- Solid commercial capability and confidence interpreting financial and operational performance
- Demonstrated success managing senior client and stakeholder relationships
- Strong understanding of safety, governance, compliance and risk
- The ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational and commercial decision-making
- A strong focus on accountability, customer service and continuous improvement
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Asset or Facilities Management, or a related discipline, would be well regarded. Relevant technical qualifications or postgraduate business qualifications will also be viewed favourably.
