Our client is a leading Australian financial services organisation seeking a Senior Associate to join its Leveraged Finance team in Sydney.

The team works across a range of leveraged and structured transactions, partnering with private equity sponsors, corporates and internal stakeholders to deliver debt solutions for acquisitions, refinancings and other corporate transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role across the full transaction lifecycle, with a particular focus on credit analysis, financial modelling and transaction execution.

Responsibilities:

- Conducting detailed credit analysis of leveraged and highly geared corporate borrowers
- Assessing financial performance, cash flow generation, leverage, debt service capacity and downside scenarios
- Developing and reviewing financial models and transaction analysis
- Preparing high-quality credit papers and recommendations for internal approval
- Structuring and executing leveraged finance transactions
- Working closely with Relationship Managers, Sponsors, Credit, Legal and other internal stakeholders
- Reviewing transaction documentation and ensuring credit approvals are appropriately implemented




- Monitoring existing exposures and identifying emerging credit risks
- Supporting portfolio management and ongoing client relationships
- Contributing to the development of new business and transaction opportunities

Experience:

- Solid experience in credit analysis and financial assessment
- Experience analysing complex corporate borrowers and cash flows
- Strong financial modelling and financial statement analysis skills
- Experience preparing detailed credit papers and presenting credit recommendations
- An understanding of leverage, debt structures, covenants and credit risk
- Experience working on complex lending transactions
- Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple transactions and stakeholders in a high-pressure environment

Candidates from Leveraged Finance, Corporate/Institutional Banking or Project Finance backgrounds will be considered, provided they have strong underlying credit analysis experience. A competitive salary package will be negotiated for the successful candidate.
