You know façade engineering. The next question is whether you're ready to lead it.

We are looking for an accomplished Façade Engineer who wants to take the next step beyond simply delivering their own projects and become an important part of the leadership and future growth of an established Sydney engineering consultancy.

This is an opportunity for someone who combines strong technical façade knowledge with the ability to lead projects, develop people, build client relationships and help shape a growing façade engineering division.

Based in Sydney's Inner West, you'll work closely with the Director while taking increasing responsibility for the technical and commercial delivery of façade projects.

The work is diverse and technically challenging, covering major residential, mixed-use, commercial and architecturally complex developments throughout Sydney.

You'll be exposed to the complete façade lifecycle – from early concept and façade strategy through detailed engineering, procurement and construction.

Your technical involvement could include:

- Curtain wall and window wall systems
- Aluminum-framed glazing, windows and doors
- Lightweight and metal cladding systems
- Brickwork and Hebel/AAC systems
- Structural design of façade components and connections
- Wind analysis and project-specific wind assessments
- Weatherproofing and NCC compliance
- Movement, durability and constructability assessments
- Shop drawing and technical submission reviews
- Site inspections, defect identification and construction support

But this position is about considerably more than technical engineering. We're looking for someone who can become a trusted senior figure within the façade team.

You'll have the opportunity to:





- Lead façade projects from initial design through construction
- Provide technical direction to engineers
- Review and sign off technical work appropriate to your experience and registration
- Manage programmes, resources and project deliverables
- Build strong relationships with architects, developers and builders
- Work directly with façade contractors and specialist suppliers
- Lead design and construction meetings
- Resolve complex technical and construction problems
- Prepare proposals and scopes and understand project commercials
- Help improve technical standards and engineering processes
- Contribute to the continued development and growth of the façade division

We are particularly interested in somebody who understands how façades are actually built.

The right person won't approach every problem purely from a theoretical perspective. You'll understand installation, tolerances, interfaces, movement, sequencing, weatherproofing and the practical realities contractors face on site.

You should be able to look at an architectural concept and help develop it into a façade solution that is technically sound, buildable and commercially sensible.

Your background may have been developed within a façade engineering consultancy, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy or a technically strong façade, glazing or curtain-wall contractor.





Strong knowledge of the NCC and relevant Australian Standards will be key, together with substantial experience within the Australian building industry.

CPEng, NER and/or NSW Qualified Engineer / Design Practitioner registration would be highly regarded at leadership level.

For somebody already leading projects in a smaller façade consultancy or contractor, it could provide the broader technical exposure and leadership opportunity you've been looking for.
