About the Role

The Premier's Department is seeking an experienced finance leader to join the Finance & Operations Branch as Associate Director, Finance Business Partnering. Working internally with Aboriginal Affairs NSW, you will provide strategic financial advice and business partnering support to help leaders manage budgets, resources and priorities effectively.

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Budgeting, you will partner closely with senior executives and managers across Aboriginal Affairs NSW, providing timely financial analysis, advice and reporting to support informed decision-making.

You will lead budget development, forecasting and financial performance activities, translate complex financial information into practical advice and identify emerging risks and opportunities. You will also support business cases and funding proposals, strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with NSW Government requirements.

The role leads a small team and works collaboratively across Finance, People and Culture, ICT, Governance and other corporate functions.

We're Looking For

- Strategic Finance Partnership: Demonstrated experience providing trusted financial advice to senior executives and business leaders within a large, complex organisation.
- Finance Systems and Team Leadership: Advanced capability across SAP, Excel, Power Query and Power BI, supported by experience improving reporting processes and leading a capable, service-focused finance team.
- Financial Planning and Performance: Robust experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis,



with the ability to identify risks and support informed decision-making.
- Influential Communication and Stakeholder Relationships: Proven ability to build trusted relationships, navigate competing priorities and translate complex financial information into clear, practical advice for non-financial audiences.

Salary:

Classification Clerk Grade 11/12. Package includes base salary ($154,231 - $178,369) plus superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
