Rooftop on Central is a busy restaurant and bar located in Gregory Hills, and we are currently expanding our kitchen team.

We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie as well as a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our team.

Full-time, part-time and casual opportunities are available. Weekend availability is essential for both positions.

CHEF DE PARTIE

We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie who is confident working in a fast-paced kitchen and can consistently deliver high-quality food during busy services.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present dishes to a consistently high standard
- Take responsibility for your allocated section during service
- Complete food preparation and mise en place prior to service
- Work efficiently during high-volume and busy service periods
- Maintain consistency in presentation, portioning and food quality
- Follow recipes, procedures and kitchen standards
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Assist with stock rotation, storage and minimising wastage
- Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team
- Assist with opening, closing and general kitchen duties
- Communicate effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role
- Strong cooking and food preparation skills
- Experience working in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Ability to confidently manage a section during service
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Reliable, organised and able to work well under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexibility across a rotating roster




- Must be available to work weekends, including Friday and Saturday nights

KITCHEN HAND

We are also looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to support our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who works quickly, takes pride in keeping a kitchen organised and clean, and is comfortable working in a rapid-paced hospitality setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and back-of-house areas
- Assisting chefs with basic food preparation where required
- Keeping workstations clean and organised throughout service
- Removing rubbish and maintaining waste areas
- Receiving and storing stock where required
- Following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
- Assisting the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Completing opening and closing cleaning duties

What We're Looking For

- Previous kitchen hand or hospitality experience preferred
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work efficiently in a quick-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Able to work as part of a team and follow direction
- Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene
- Physically capable of working on your feet throughout a busy shift
- Flexible availability
- Must be available to work weekends
