Join the kitchen team at one of Cowra's favourite local pubs An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Chef to join the team at Railway Hotel Cowra, initially assisting us while one of our existing chefs takes a period of leave.

We're looking for someone who loves good pub food, enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and isn't afraid to jump in and get things done.

Railway Hotel is a beautifully refurbished country pub in the heart of Cowra with plenty of history, personality and a strong local following. Our focus is simple: great food, genuine hospitality and creating a venue the local community loves coming back to.

Our bistro serves lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and combines the classics people expect from a great country pub with dishes that have a little extra personality.

We also pride ourselves on using fresh ingredients and supporting local producers wherever possible.

About the role

You'll work alongside our existing kitchen team to help deliver consistent, quality food across busy lunch and dinner services.

This isn't a huge brigade where you're just another chef on the roster.

We're a close-knit regional team, so we're looking for someone who communicates well,



backs their teammates and takes genuine pride in what leaves the pass.

Your responsibilities will include

- Preparing and cooking meals consistently to venue standards
- Working across different sections of the kitchen
- Maintaining presentation, portion and quality standards
- Assisting with preparation and service
- Supporting smooth and efficient service during busy periods
- Following food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organised kitchen
- Stock rotation and correct food storage
- Minimising food waste
- Communicating closely with the rest of the kitchen and FOH team
- Helping with specials and bringing ideas to the kitchen where appropriate
- Jumping in wherever needed to support the team

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you:

- Have experience working as a Chef in a pub, club, restaurant or similar environment
- Are confident working through busy service periods
- Have a strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Take pride in consistency and presentation
- Are reliable and organised
- Work well within a small team
- Have a positive attitude and are willing to help others
- Can work a combination of lunch, dinner and weekend shifts as required




- Enjoy good-quality pub food and aren't afraid to contribute ideas

Formal cookery qualifications are highly regarded, however strong practical experience and the right attitude are equally important to us.
