As a casual Child and Youth Community Wellbeing Hub Worker you will support the daily operations of our Hub, creating a welcoming, safe and child-focused environment where children and young people can learn, connect and grow.

Specifically, the services we provide deliver recreational and therapeutic programs for children, young people and families residing in Stonnington, with a focus on those living in public and social housing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Facilitating engaging recreational, creative and developmental activities for children and young people.
- Supporting children to develop social skills, positive peer relationships, resilience and confidence through safe and meaningful experiences.
- Implementing trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to support children and young people with diverse needs.
- Managing challenging behaviours in a calm, consistent and child-centred manner.
- Maintaining a protected, clean and well-organised Hub environment, including responding appropriately to first aid and wellbeing needs.
- Supporting families to access relevant services, supports and community resources.
- Recording accurate attendance data, case notes, incident reports and permission documentation.
- Contributing to a positive team culture through participation in staff meetings, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assisting with daily operational and administrative tasks to ensure effective service delivery.

This is a casual role,



offering a salary rate range of $39.87 - $42.13 per hour, plus 25% casual loading and 12% superannuation.

What you’ll need to succeed:

- A certificate/degree or diploma in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Education, Sport Recreation, Outdoor Education or relevant qualification is preferred, though lesser formal qualifications or evidence you are working towards a relevant qualification may be acceptable with equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated skills in working with and engaging children, young people and families, particularly those from non-English speaking and low socioeconomic backgrounds using trauma informed frameworks
- Experience working at Adventure Playgrounds, youth services and/or integrated service environments; and ability to work in a fast paced and busy environment and respond to critical incidents.
- Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviours from children and young people and respond in a trauma informed approach.
- Passion for collaboration and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and positively contribute to the development of the team.
- Current and valid Working with Children’s Check.
