Our client is a privately held, founder-led, technology-enabled business headquartered in Sydney. It has several hundred people across multiple regions, a loyal customer base and real momentum. After years of rapid growth, the business is at a genuine inflection point, with an ambitious multi-year plan to scale revenue many times over across three business units.

This is a newly created role, be the first person to hold full, end-to-end ownership of technology, with product sitting inside your remit CTPO. This is not a maintenance role. It's a build role, with the mandate and autonomy to match.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, you'll own engineering, architecture, data and systems, alongside the product function. You'll lead four direct reports and, through them, a team of 30 engineers and product people. You'll have direct founder access, real budget authority and the freedom to assess what exists, decide what needs to change and in what order, and build the technology function the business needs for its next phase.

What You'll Own

Technology & Platform

- A full, clear-eyed assessment of the technology stack, identifying the technical debt limiting the business and setting the remediation roadmap
- Architecture and platform strategy across a mixed in-house and third-party estate, including build, buy and consolidate decisions
- A platform that scales, built to support a business many times its current size
- Data and systems foundations that give leadership reliable,



real-time visibility

Engineering Delivery & Velocity

- Engineering velocity as a measurable metric, with transparent targets and teams held to them
- Delivery standards, sprint cadences and platform health metrics that leadership can see and trust
- Removing structural blockers to delivery across process, tooling, dependencies and team
- A structured intake and prioritisation model that protects engineering from ad-hoc requests across the business

Product

- Owning the product roadmap across three business units: a core platform that drives the business today, an adjacent business line, and a new vertical being built from zero
- Making sure the technology, not just great service, is what keeps customers loyal
- Building the technology and product foundation for the new vertical, from zero revenue today to a material revenue line within two to three years

Who You Are

- A senior engineering and technology leader with deep technical credibility / genuine product lens
- Experienced leading engineering across multiple squads or business units at the same time
- Able to walk into a complex, imperfect technology ecosystem, see clearly what's broken, and build a remediation roadmap including headcount recommendations
- Hands-on experience with platform modernisation, architecture decisions and managing third-party technology vendors
- A strong stakeholder operator who can protect engineering focus while keeping the wider business moving
- Background in fast-paced, high-volume, customer-facing digital platforms where performance and reliability matter
- A track record inside a scale-up moving through a significant revenue inflection, not just steady-state growth
- Comfortable with ambiguity and energised by building structure where none exists yet
