This is a part-time position working 5 days/30hrs a week. You will be solely responsible for the cooking of all children’s meals at our Brighton Road Centre which caters up to 54 children a day. You will be accountable for upholding the Food Safety Program and standards as well as leading the menu choices for the children in collaboration with the Service Manager.

Qualifications & experience
- Experience in preparing meals for children in a childcare setting.
- Knowledge of hygienic food preparation, Basic training in food safety and nutrition.
- Accredited food handler’s course.
- The capacity to communicate with carers about individual children’s dietary needs.
- Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety Guidelines.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is desired.
- Blue Card and National Child Safety training
Tasks & responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, preparing,
and ordering food supplies in line with budgetary guidelines.
- Manage the kitchen area to ensure that the highest standards of hygiene, food preparation, handling, and safety practices are maintained.
- Evaluate and collaborate on new menu ideas on a seasonal basis.
- In preparing the menu, it must consider and reflect the normal dietary requirements of children in the various age ranges, as well as particular dietary requirements, allergens and children who are anaphylactic.
- Ensuring high standards of safety in relation to food allergens.
- Ensuring the highest level of food safety and supervision in accordance with the Food and Council Authority requirements
