About the Australian Girls Choir The Australian Girls Choir (AGC) is Australia’s leading children’s performing arts organisation, dedicated to empowering girls through music. We have approximately 6,500 choristers training in six Australian cities. We’re an innovative, collaborative and dynamic workplace, where a shared interest in the performing arts brings together many people with unique skills from a variety of backgrounds.

The Roles

We’re looking for choral Tutors and Assistant Tutors to join our team in Melbourne. We currently have 12 rehearsal venues located in Berwick, Caulfield, Ringwood, Yarraville, Glen Waverley, Kew, Mentone, Essendon, Heidelberg, Box Hill, Greensborough and Ivanhoe

Our Tutors lead engaging weekly classes for choristers, helping to create a positive, supportive and inspiring learning workplace. Depending on your experience, interests and availability, there may be opportunities across different age groups and locations.

What we’re looking for?

- A passion for girls’ education and a desire to champion the value of performing arts participation




- Experience or training in music, performing arts and/or education
- Confidence working and communicating with children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to commit to weekly classes during school terms, along with occasional weekend events and relief teaching
- Experience teaching groups of children aged 5–11 (desirable)
- A qualification in music and/or teaching, or current study towards one (desirable)
- Experience with the Kodály method (desirable)
- A valid Working with Children Check; a driver’s licence is also preferred

- Staff Replacement work, which involves covering classes when the regular Tutor is absent
