Hanlons is growing our Engineering team in Tamworth and we’re looking for a Civil Engineer / Civil Designer with approximately 2–5 years’ practical experience.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants exposure to more than one type of civil engineering project.

You could be working across roads and pavements, subdivisions and land development, stormwater and drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, water and sewer infrastructure, rail and other infrastructure projects throughout NSW.

You’ll prepare designs and drawings,



undertake engineering calculations and technical documentation, contribute to design reviews and verification, communicate with clients and other project stakeholders and work collaboratively across our multidisciplinary team.

As your capability develops, there will also be opportunities to grow your involvement in project management, client relationships and mentoring others.

Qualifications

We’re interested in capability and potential, not just what your job title currently says.

You may be a Civil Engineer with a few years’ experience,



a Graduate Engineer ready for broader exposure, or an experienced Civil Designer who has developed strong practical capability through work and study.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- A Civil Engineering qualification, relevant Civil Design qualification, or be progressing towards relevant tertiary studies
- Approximately 2–5 years’ practical Civil Engineering or Civil Design experience
- Experience or exposure to civil design and drafting, roads, subdivisions, stormwater, drainage, hydrology/hydraulics, water, sewer, rail or infrastructure
- Experience with relevant civil design/CAD and engineering software
- Ability to undertake engineering calculations and prepare technical documentation
- Robust written and verbal communication skills
- Practical problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Good time management and organisational skills
- A collaborative approach and willingness to keep learning
- Australian Class C Driver Licence
- Australian working rights
- Ability to meet relevant project medical requirements, including a Cat 3 Rail Medical where required
