About the role

We are seeking an experienced and exceptionally reliable NDIS Support Worker / Domestic Assistance Cleaner to provide cleaning services in participants’ homes.

We currently have an opportunity available in Doreen, with the potential for additional work with participants across Melbourne.

This is not a commercial cleaning position. You will be working in people’s homes and must be able to provide person-centred domestic assistance that reflects each participant’s individual preferences, routines, communication needs and agreed support requirements.

The successful applicant will understand that every participant has different expectations regarding how their home is cleaned and maintained. You must be willing to listen, follow instructions carefully, respond respectfully to feedback and complete all agreed tasks to a consistently high standard.

Key responsibilities

- Providing high-quality domestic cleaning services in participants’ homes
- Completing agreed household tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting and surface cleaning
- Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and shared living areas
- Assisting with laundry, linen changes and other agreed household tasks
- Following each participant’s preferences, routines and service arrangements




- Supporting participant choice and control over how services are delivered in their home
- Communicating respectfully with participants, families and the JessiCare team
- Using cleaning products and equipment safely and appropriately
- Following infection-prevention, workplace health and safety and safe manual-handling procedures
- Identifying and reporting hazards, incidents, property damage or service concerns
- Maintaining participant privacy, dignity, confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Completing attendance records and service notes when required
- Arriving on time and notifying JessiCare immediately if an unexpected issue affects a scheduled service

About you We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous residential cleaning experience, preferably in disability, aged-care or community-service settings
- Takes pride in delivering detailed, thorough and consistent cleaning
- Is extraordinarily punctual, dependable and organised
- Understands the importance of reliability for NDIS participants
- Is respectful, patient, non-judgemental and comfortable working in participants’ homes
- Can adapt their approach to different participants’ preferences, abilities, cultures and communication needs
- Can work independently while following agreed instructions and service requirements
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Responds positively to participant feedback
- Understands that providing assistance does not mean taking away a participant’s independence, preferences or control
- Can safely perform the inherent physical duties of household cleaning




- Is available to work in Doreen and is interested in potential additional shifts across Melbourne

Essential requirements
- Relevant residential or participant-home cleaning experience
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or the ability to obtain one before commencing
- A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Valid Australian working rights
- A current driver licence
- Access to a reliable and appropriately insured vehicle
- A smartphone and reliable access to email
- Suitable professional references

Training in infection prevention, protected manual handling, disability support or community services will be highly regarded. What JessiCare offers
