An opportunity is now available for an experienced Senior Business Manager /Product Manager to take ownership of a significant and well-established starch portfolio , representing a leading global ingredient supplier in the Australian market.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a senior commercial and portfolio management position with primary responsibility for the strategic management and growth of an established starch portfolio.

You will develop a deep understanding of the portfolio, its applications, customers and market opportunities, while building a strong relationship with the global supplier and working closely with internal sales and technical teams to drive sustainable growth.

The role encompasses portfolio strategy, forecasting, commercial performance, supplier engagement, customer development and identification of new market opportunities. The existing position description similarly places responsibility on managing supplier portfolios, strategically growing principal product ranges, reporting to the principal and overseeing product forecasts.

The portfolio supports customers across a broad range of applications, with significant exposure toready meals and bakery, as well as dairy, meat, sauces and prepared foods, beverages, confectionery and pharmaceutical applications.

Take ownership of a substantial starch portfolio and drive its strategic and commercial performance across Australia.

Develop strong relationships with key supplier personnel and act as an significant link between the supplier and the Australian business.





Develop and execute strategies to grow the portfolio across existing and new markets.

Manage product demand forecasting, portfolio performance and commercial outcomes.

Develop a strong understanding of market dynamics, customer requirements, product applications and opportunities for growth.

Work closely with sales and technical teams to identify opportunities and support customer projects, presentations and new product development.

Support supplier visits through targeted customer meetings, presentations and market-development activities.

Build strong relationships with strategic and key customer accounts and identify opportunities to broaden the company's presence within those businesses.

Maintain accurate customer forecasts, opportunities and portfolio information within internal systems.

Collaborate with technical, quality, logistics and business support teams to deliver strong customer outcomes.

Depending on your experience, take responsibility for additional ingredient portfolios and/or selected key customer accounts.

The supplier-facing responsibilities reflect the current business model, which includes developing relationships across suppliers, maintaining extensive product and application knowledge, forecasting demand and working with sales and technical teams around supplier focus areas.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced food ingredients professional with strong commercial capability and the confidence to take ownership of an key product portfolio.

Experience working within the distributor model and managing supplier/principal relationships would be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Ideally,



you will bring:

Experience within starches, texturisers, hydrocolloids, functional ingredients or related food ingredient categories.

Strong commercial and analytical capability, including forecasting and managing a complex product portfolio.

Experience developing product, portfolio or market growth strategies.

An understanding of food manufacturing, ingredient functionality and customer applications.

Strong supplier, customer and internal stakeholder relationship skills.

The ability to work collaboratively with technical and sales teams.

Confidence presenting technical and commercial information to customers and suppliers.

A proactive approach to identifying new products, applications, customers and market opportunities.

The ability to operate autonomously while contributing as part of a broader commercial team.

Exceptional analytical capability and the ability to forecast and manage a complex and diverse portfolio are also specifically identified as important competencies in the existing position description.
