Gibson Howlin Lawyers is seeking an experienced Insolvency Lawyer to join our Corporate & Commercial Law practice in Sydney.

This is a full-time position based in our Sydney office. Flexibility available.

Key responsibilities

- Advising clients on insolvency law matters, including administrations, liquidations, receiverships and voluntary arrangements
- Drafting and reviewing insolvency-related legal documentation and pleadings
- Representing clients in negotiations with creditors, debtors and other stakeholders
- Attending and conducting court proceedings relating to insolvency matters
- Collaborating with insolvency practitioners, accountants and other professional advisers
- Assisting with business development and client relationship management

What we're looking for

- Admission as a lawyer in New South Wales
- Minimum 4 years' post-admission experience in insolvency and/or tax law
- Strong knowledge of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), Bankruptcy Act 1966 (Cth) and related legislation
- Demonstrated experience in advising on company insolvencies,



personal bankruptcies and restructuring transactions
- Excellent drafting and legal writing skills with attention to detail
- Strong research and analytical capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional judgment and the ability to provide pragmatic, commercial advice
- Experience in court appearances
