Indigeco is recruiting a Senior Asset Accountant for our client, a Queensland-based ports and infrastructure organisation.

This role will lead the remediation, enrichment and governance of a significant fixed asset register across a complex infrastructure asset base.

You will act as the subject matter expert for asset accounting, asset systems and registers, supporting an Asset Lifecycle Management Project and ensuring asset data is accurate, complete, compliant and fit for ongoing financial and operational use.

Our client operates within a complex infrastructure and asset management environment. This is an opportunity to contribute to a major asset data improvement project, working closely with finance, engineering, asset management, operations and executive stakeholders.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the data cleanse, remediation and enrichment of fixed asset registers within TechnologyOne
- Identify and populate missing asset data by working with operational, engineering and asset management teams
- Conduct asset verification activities, including site inspections to confirm asset locations, conditions and existence
- Interrogate legacy systems, databases, document management systems and spreadsheets to validate historical asset data
- Support integration between TechnologyOne and ESRI, including validation of asset data flows and spatial linkages
- Review and reconcile capital work in progress,



ensuring completed projects are capitalised accurately and on time
- Develop asset data standards, training materials and process improvements to support long-term asset governance

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in fixed asset accounting, asset register management, capitalisation, depreciation, disposals and componentisation
- Experience working within complex infrastructure, utilities, ports, government-owned corporation or asset-intensive environments
- Working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards relevant to property, plant and equipment, including AASB 116 and AASB 138
- Experience with data cleanse, data migration, asset register remediation or ERP implementation projects
- Strong Excel capability, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data validation
- Ability to engage with engineers, asset managers, project managers, finance teams and senior stakeholders to resolve asset data issues
