Role Description This is an on-site contract role based at Motion Myotherapy Northcote in Northcote, VIC, for a Clinical Myotherapist / Sports Remedial Massage Therapist. The practitioner will perform clinical assessments, provide evidence-based myotherapy and remedial massage treatments, and manage clients with a range of musculoskeletal conditions and sports-related injuries. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical notes, coordinating appointment schedules, and educating clients on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and self-management strategies.
The role also involves working collaboratively with other health practitioners, upholding high standards of professional conduct, and contributing to a welcoming, client-focused clinic environment.
Qualifications
- Recognized qualification in Myotherapy or Remedial Massage (e.g., Advanced Diploma or Bachelor level) and eligibility for association membership and private health fund provider status.
- Demonstrated skills in musculoskeletal assessment, clinical reasoning, and treatment planning for a wide range of pain, dysfunction, and sports injuries.
- Proficiency in manual therapy techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and corrective exercise prescription.
- Solid client communication and education skills, with the ability to explain conditions, treatment options, and home care programs clearly and respectfully.
- Experience working in a clinical or sports setting, with a commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work independently in a busy clinic, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate, confidential clinical records.
- Current skilled indemnity insurance, up-to-date first aid and CPR certification, and the right to work in Australia.
- Availability to work a mix of weekdays and weekends to meet client demand; experience with electronic booking and payment systems (e.g., HICAPS) is an advantage.
