About the role

As a Great Value Holidays Coach Driver, you'll be responsible for the safe and comfortable transport of our guests while delivering excellent customer service. This varied role combines daily local charter work in Cairns and surrounding areas from November to March with extended, multi-day touring throughout Outback Queensland during our touring season, April to October. Our extended tours are fully hosted, so you'll work alongside our experienced tour hosts to ensure each journey runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

- Safely operate our touring coach on local charters, airport transfers, sightseeing excursions and extended multi-day tours.
- Follow pre-planned itineraries and communicate any required changes, delays or concerns promptly to management.
- Assist guests with boarding, disembarking and luggage handling.
- Provide friendly customer service, answer guest questions and share local knowledge or sightseeing commentary where appropriate (An experience Guide will also travel with you).
- Complete daily pre-start vehicle inspections, safety checklists and end-of-shift procedures.
- Maintain accurate National Driver Work Diary entries and local-area work and rest records, as applicable.
- Comply with all relevant fatigue management and heavy vehicle safety requirements.




- Identify and promptly report vehicle defects, maintenance requirements and safety concerns.
- Coordinate urgent coach repairs while on tour in consultation with management.

About you

- Current, unrestricted HR driver's licence.
- Current Queensland Driver Authorisation (DA) for bus and coach passenger transport.
- Previous heavy vehicle driving experience, preferably in passenger transport.
- Sound knowledge of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), including fatigue management and work/rest requirements.
- Ability to maintain accurate National Driver Work Diary entries and other required driving records.
- Ability to meet commercial passenger driver medical fitness requirements and maintain all required licences and authorisations.
- Robust commitment to safe driving, vehicle maintenance and passenger safety.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends and extended multi-day tours away from Cairns.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
