About the Opportunity

We are looking for someone to lift our catering service to a higher standard through creativity, efficiency and good team work. This is a daytime job starting 6:30am and finishing around 3pm, Monday to Friday with public holidays off. We are searching for an inspired Commercial Chef who takes pride in their work and knows that good food matters. You will be our customer's answer to "what's for lunch/dinner that's nutritious, delicious and different?"

Here are some of the more important deliverables and expectations:

- Your standards match our standards: Freshness, quality and value.

- Excellent understanding and experience in food labelling requirements

- Must demonstrate comprehensive experience in full regulatory compliance for food labelling requirements.

- You are at your best when working with a small team.

- You are a good people motivator.

- You can work within required gross profit margins.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Team Leader duties

- Cooking nutritious and interesting pre-packed take-home meals

- Preparing and assembling of salads





- Commercial kitchen duties

- Protected food handling and hygiene

- Packaging and labelling for deliveries to our stores.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following selection criteria:

- At least 3 years, preferably 5 years, full-time commercial cooking experience in non-franchise businesses.

- Easy going personality and even temperament.

- Excellent people and time management skills.

- A sound knowledge of health and safety practices.

- An eye for detail.

- Excellent kitchen hygiene and personal hygiene practices.

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience

- Must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualification as formal certification is required for this position.

- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

- Must possess a current and valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate at the time of application.

- Must have full working rights in Australia
