The Opportunity

Sharp & Carter Perth have been exclusively engaged on this Senior Commercial Finance Manager opportunity across multiple business units of a high-performing national business. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you’ll work closely with multiple Executive General Managers and senior operational leaders across the group, acting as a trusted commercial advisor and providing financial insight to support performance, growth and strategic decision-making.

No two days will be the same. This is a broad, senior role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working across multiple business units, projects and operational environments. You’ll be heavily involved in business planning, forecasting, project analysis and partnering with senior stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partner with multiple Executive General Managers and senior operational leaders across the group.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and business planning across multiple business units.
- Provide commercial analysis, financial modelling and insight to support strategic decision-making.
- Partner with project and operational teams across project-based work, including labour cost modelling, WIP, project completion and performance analysis.
- Develop and assess business cases, investment proposals and strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, cost efficiency, revenue and operational performance.
- Provide commercial oversight across multiple business units and projects.
- Challenge assumptions and provide commercially focused recommendations to senior leadership.
- Work closely with FP&A; and Group Finance to ensure alignment,



accuracy and consistency.
- Drive improvements across reporting, processes, systems and commercial visibility.

About You:

- CA/CPA qualified or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a senior commercial finance, Finance Business Partnering or management accounting role.
- Robust experience across business planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Project-based or operational finance experience, with exposure to WIP, project costing and labour modelling highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with General Managers or senior executives.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling capability.
- Commercially minded with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working across multiple business units, projects and competing priorities.
- Experience across mining/services, oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, FMCG, logistics or similar environments.
- Strong systems capability, with Power BI or similar exposure advantageous.
