About the Role

As a Commercial Manager, you will play a key leadership role, partnering closely with Project Managers and operational teams to provide strategic commercial guidance across the full project lifecycle. You will help drive project success through proactive contract management, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and commercial optimisation.

This role offers the prospect to influence major transport projects while working alongside experienced leaders who are committed to your professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic commercial leadership across complex transport projects.

Ensure effective administration of head contracts, protecting commercial rights and ensuring contractual obligations are met.

Manage contractual correspondence and foster positive client relationships.

Lead the preparation, submission, and negotiation of variations, claims, and change events.

Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.

Drive excellence in cost management, forecasting, cash flow, and project financial performance.

Ensure compliance with contractual, governance, and legal requirements.

Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Support commercial strategy development and subcontract negotiations.





Mentor and support project teams to strengthen commercial capability.

About You

You may come from a variety of backgrounds including commercial management, contract management, quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, or law.

Experience in commercial or contract management within construction, infrastructure, engineering, transport, rail, or related industries.

Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of construction contracts.

Experience managing claims, variations, financial reporting, and project performance.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

A collaborative leadership style and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

The confidence to influence outcomes while fostering positive working relationships.
