3-6 Month Contract with Permanent Potential

Your New Company An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Superintendent to join a leading organisation within the mining and resources sector. Based at a large-scale mining operation, you will oversee key financial and commercial activities while partnering with site operations, corporate finance, procurement and external stakeholders. This is a senior leadership role focused on driving financial performance, contract management and commercial outcomes across the business.

Your new role

This position operates on a FIFO roster from Brisbane and is site-based. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will lead a site-based commercial function and provide financial and commercial support across the operation. Working closely with operational leaders, contractors and suppliers, you will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, contract management and business improvement initiatives.

- Develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
- Analyse financial and operational performance.
- Present commercial insights to senior leadership.
- Ensure expenditure remains within approved budgets.
- Manage the full contract life cycle from tender to close-out.
- Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
- Monitor contractor performance and KPI compliance.
- Drive cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
- Partner with finance, procurement and operational stakeholders.
- Lead and develop a team of commercial and finance professionals.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role,



you will hold tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline. You will be CA or CPA qualified and bring experience within a mining, manufacturing, heavy industry or similarly capital-intensive environment.

You will also demonstrate

- Strong budgeting, forecasting and management accounting experience.
- Proven contract management and commercial negotiation capability.
- Experience using SAP and advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to identify cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Previous leadership experience within a site-based environment.

Experience supporting operational finance and complex commercial arrangements within mining or heavy industry will be highly regarded.
