Our client is a highly regarded boutique accounting and advisory firm seeking an SMSF Accountant to join their growing team. This opportunity offers direct Partner exposure, ownership of a portfolio of SMSF clients and the chance to focus on higher value work including client management, technical review and compliance oversight.

The Opportunity n

This is not a traditional SMSF processing role.

n

You'll be responsible for managing your own SMSF portfolio while overseeing work completed by a dedicated outsourced accounting team. Your focus will be on reviewing completed work, managing client relationships, resolving technical issues and ensuring all compliance obligations are met.

n

The successful candidate will work closely with a Partner and become a trusted advisor to a sophisticated client base.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Manage an allocated portfolio of SMSF clients
n
- Act as the primary contact for clients throughout the compliance process
n
- Review SMSF financial statements and annual tax returns
n
- Review contributions, pensions,



member balances and investment transactions
n
- Coordinate and manage work completed by offshore accounting resources
n
- Liaise with auditors and manage annual audit requirements
n
- Resolve technical and compliance-related queries
n
- Assist with fund establishments, pension commencements and rollovers
n
- Ensure all statutory and internal deadlines are achieved
n
- Maintain strong workflow management and file quality standards
n

About You nn
- Experience within an Australian Public Practice accounting firm
n
- Strong SMSF accounting and compliance knowledge
n
- Experience reviewing SMSF accounts and tax returns
n
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
n
- Highly organised with strong workflow management skills
n
- Ability to manage multiple funds and competing deadlines
n
- Comfortable taking ownership of jobs from commencement through to completion
n

Highly Regarded nn
- 3+ years SMSF accounting experience
n
- CA or CPA qualified or studying
n
- Class Super experience
n
- Experience liaising with SMSF auditors
n
- Exposure to complex SMSF matters including pensions, property and contribution strategies
n
