About the role

We are seeking a talented Commis chef to join our agile kitchen team at Billy Chow' in Coolangatta, Queensland. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in supporting our Head Chef and Senior Chefs in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our customers.

What you'll be doing

- Assist the Head Chef and Senior Chefs in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for our menu
- Learn and develop new culinary skills and techniques under the guidance of our experienced team
- Ensure all kitchen operations adhere to health, safety and hygiene standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve kitchen processes and menu items
- Undertake any other duties as required to support the kitchen team

What we're looking for

- Passion for food and a keen interest in the culinary arts
- Some experience in a commercial kitchen environment, either as a commis chef or apprentice
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills




- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Relevant culinary qualifications or a commitment to undertaking an apprenticeship program
