As a Support Worker, you will provide individualised support based on each person's needs, preferences, goals and support plan. You will support people across different stages of life, including children, adults and older people. You will work across Camperdown and surrounding areas, supporting a diverse range of participants and clients and adapting your approach to each person's individual needs.
Key responsibilities
- Social and community participation
- Assistance with daily living activities
- Personal care where required
- Domestic assistance and household tasks
- Transport to appointments, activities and community events
- Supporting independence and development of everyday living skills
- Providing age-appropriate support to children and young people
- Supporting older people to remain safe, independent and connected within their homes and communities
- Companionship and social support
- Following individual support plans, care plans and risk management strategies
About you
- Compassionate, patient and respectful
- Comfortable working with children,
adults and older people
- Reliable and committed to providing consistent support
- Comfortable working independently in people's homes and within the community
- Confident communicating with participants, clients, children, families and other professionals
- Able to provide support while promoting dignity, choice and independence
- Able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Adaptable and willing to work a variety of shifts
- Able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Hold or be willing to obtain: NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, Current First Aid and CPR, Current Australian driver's licence, Reliable and appropriately insured vehicle, NDIS Worker Orientation Module
