We’re on the hunt for a talented Chef / Cook to join our busy country Motel & Tavern in Capella, Central Queensland. If you love outstanding food, fast service, and a kitchen that actually feels like a team — you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
- Cook a wide range of dishes with consistency, flavour and flair
- Inspect and quality‑check all incoming food deliveries
- Master the ovens, grills, fryers and equipment like a true kitchen pro
- Plate meals with precision and presentation pride
- Check and maintain food quality, storage and safety standards
- Run equipment temps and keep the kitchen humming
- Adapt meals for dietary needs
- Season, taste, adjust and perfect every plate
- Help with menu planning,
recipe development and forecasting
- Support the Head chef and other cooks / chefs
- Report to the Head Chef and keep communication flowing
What You’ll Do
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef / Cook
- Cert III in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
- Current Food Safety Certificates
- Strong organisation, time management and multi‑tasking skills
- Great communication and teamwork
- Ability to work night shifts
