At Songbird Yarra Junction, our boutique 39-place Centre is looking for a passionate Cook to join our team and take ownership of our kitchen.
You’ll prepare fresh meals and snacks each day, with plenty of chance to bring your own ideas and creativity to the menu.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks
- Creating healthy and appealing options for young children
- Catering for allergies and individual dietary requirements
- Following our four-week rotational menu
- Managing food preparation, ordering and stock
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and food-safe
- Working alongside educators to support children's nutritional needs
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO
- Loves cooking healthy food
- Is organised, reliable and takes pride in their work
- Can confidently manage a kitchen independently
- Enjoys being part of a small, supportive team
- Understands the importance of nutrition in the early years
Experience cooking in an early childhood setting is highly regarded, but we're also interested in cooks who bring great skills, enthusiasm and a genuine love of preparing food for children.
