Help Build Something New The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is entering the next phase of maturity in procurement, contract governance and project delivery.

Following a review of our Project Management Framework, we are establishing a dedicated Contracts and Procurement function to strengthen commercial governance, improve organisational capability and implement a contemporary contract management framework across the organisation.

This is not a traditional procurement role.

While you will lead our established procurement team, your primary focus will be establishing and maturing our contract management framework, implementing the TechnologyOne Contract Management Module and building organisational capability in contract management.

We are seeking an experienced commercial, procurement or contract management skilled who enjoys building capability, strengthening governance and creating sustainable organisational outcomes.

In this role you will:





- establish and implement an organisation-wide Contract Management Framework;
- lead implementation of the TechnologyOne Contract Management Module;
- develop contract management templates, procedures and governance tools;
- provide commercial and contractual advice across the organisation;
- oversee contract governance, performance monitoring and assurance activities;
- coordinate contract-related legal advice and organisational contract controls;
- build procurement and contract management capability through coaching and training;
- lead and develop the Procurement Team; and
- contribute to the Shire's broader governance and organisational improvement initiatives.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who can see the bigger picture.

Whilst a strong understanding of procurement is important, the successful candidate will be someone who can move beyond day-to-day procurement transactions and focus on establishing a mature, organisation-wide contract management function.

Our preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate:

- significant experience in procurement, contract management, commercial management or a related discipline;
- experience establishing or improving frameworks, systems, procedures and governance arrangements;
- solid commercial acumen and the ability to provide practical advice on complex contractual matters;
- experience managing contract risk, performance, variations and disputes;
- the ability to influence and build relationships across a diverse organisation;




- experience leading and developing professional teams; and
- a passion for continuous improvement and organisational maturity.
