About The Role To manage and lead assignments, and provide support to Clients, Technical Directors and RPS Management to achieve the goals of the company. This includes developing business opportunities, supporting growth of the project controls services, client-side service delivery and supporting team to achieve timely, high quality client outcomes which are profitable for the business. The role covers project management service lines and national opportunities and will include coordination with our other AAP divisions and wider RPS Global initiatives.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Risk Management

- This role requires an experienced risk practitioner with a hands-on approach to risk management.

- Your role will be to take ownership of the risk management function, adhere to, and maintain, the project Risk Management Plan, if established; or develop an appropriate Risk Management Plan and framework.
- Your role is to support the Planning and Delivery teams in identifying project risks and opportunities and then developing a risk mitigation (or opportunity action) with the respective risk owner, and then regularly follow-up to record accurate status and effectiveness of those actions.
- To perform your role, you will need to facilitate both internal and external risk workshops that require a high degree of preparation to efficiently utilise the workshop attendee’s time.
- At the core of your role is maintaining the project risk register with monthly qualitative updates and also managing a quantitative ‘deep dive’ risk review every 3-4 months, or as the project requires.
- You will be able to collate Monte Carlo quantitative inputs and provide guidance to team members on the appropriateness of their inputs to model the quantitative risk and generate a reliable and defendable output.
- You will be able experienced in the use of quantitative Monte Software such as @Risk, or similar.

Practice Lead Support

- Support the Practice Lead in continuing to build the WA business with particular focus on diversifying into more Energy, Ports and Water infrastructure project work.




- Key responsibilities include supporting client networking and relationship building, strategy development and opportunity identification, leading proposals and pursuits, project overview and providing operational cadence.
- Possess a strong business acumen and business development mindset to create and convert opportunities to RPS wins.

Reporting

- Your role will require you to provide inputs, both data and written commentary, to the projects internal and external client reporting. Project reporting consists of both regular monthly reporting cycles and ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Supplementing the written reports, you will be required to generate presentation material and graphics to illustrate the project risk metrics.

Cost Control and Planner/Scheduler

- You will work alongside the project cost controller(s) and project planner/scheduler who will support you with inputs to your quantitative Monte Carlo model.
- Guide these, and other, subject matter experts to develop meaningful time or cost estimate inputs to the qualitative risk register and quantitative Monte Carlo model.
- You will have an appreciation of the relationship between the project budget and the estimated value of residual risk on the project.

Collaboration and Communication

- A key characteristic you will bring to your role is your ability to develop relationships with the entire project team, including the wider project team, external contractors and designers, to create a collaborative environment and mindset to work through complex problems to find the optimal solution, being mindful of the client’s needs.
- Your communication skills, both verbal and written, are extremely important to gain both the project team and client’s confidence in your technical ability and the quality of output.
- Presenting and facilitating workshops are key to your success in this role.
- You are a commercial thinker and contribute strategically.

In Summary:

- The primary role is to work on a prominent Defence project as the Risk Manager. Prior experience within the Defence sector,



specifically in delivering projects for Capital Facilities and Infrastructure Branch (CFI) is extremely advantageous.
- The secondary role is to support the WA Practice Lead building the WA business, particularly in the Energy, Ports and Water infrastructure sectors.
- This dual role reports jointly to the Project Controls Manager and the WA Practice Lead.

The Project Controls team is an imbedded capability within the wider Planning & Delivery team providing Project Management & Contract Administration (PMCA) services to the client.

- You are an Australian citizen either possessing Baseline or NV1 security clearance or will be able to obtain it.
- Due to the increased security vetting requirements of this project placement, there are additional restrictions that relate to country of origin and dual citizenship.
- You have comprehensive industry knowledge with a broad level of experience within your chosen discipline and experience in matters beyond your chosen discipline.
- You provide strategic advice to clients, drawing on knowledge and experience outside your own discipline.
- In summary, we are looking for a 10 year plus experienced project practitioner who enjoys the risk management component of large projects but is also enthusiastic and able to support the capture and delivery of future large complex infrastructure projects.
