Reporting to the Practice Lead of Applied Intelligence, the Cyber Security Architect is responsible for designing and implementing robust cyber security architectures that effectively safeguard information systems.

The Cyber Security Architect will ensure that security measures are integrated into the solutions we provide internally and for our customers, enabling early identification and mitigation of potential threats. This role involves close collaboration with other architecture teams, the cyber security team, and customer cyber resources to optimise security protocols and response strategies.

This role will predominantly provide cyber architecture and cyber assurance to a large sustainment project. Other opportunities outside of this project will occur from time to time. You will also serve as a mentor and coach to junior team members, guiding them in best practices and innovative security solutions.

What’s The Role?

- Gathering requirements and developing Solution and Detailed Designs for Cybersecurity technologies being implemented across Citadel Edge and our customers, particularly in a defence context.
- Designing, consulting, and providing quality assurance of complex Security, Cloud, End-User and related domain solutions across multiple jurisdictions covering: Australian ISM and PSPF; AWS Cybersecurity controls (e.g., CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Inspector, Shield); Azure and M365 Cybersecurity controls (e.g.,



Defender for Cloud, Sentinel); Data loss prevention controls (e.g., M365 DLP controls and CASB); Web application protection technologies (e.g., web application firewalls); Network segmentation and network access control technologies; and Endpoint protection controls (e.g., Crowdstrike, Ivanti App Control, Mobile Device Management).
- Assisting other Architects in the Cybersecurity elements of their projects.
- Providing Cybersecurity advice and assistance to projects and BAU teams, such as participating in Information Classification of new systems, participating in threat and vulnerability assessments of new systems or upgrades, and producing and maintaining cyber security specific documentation.
- Providing assistance during procurement processes, such as reviewing Cybersecurity controls included in vendor proposals. Ensuring all solutions designs and related artefacts are fit for purpose; providing thought leadership with key stakeholders; and working within the Architecture and Solutions team to develop or enhance reusable IP such as reference architectures.
- Contributing to the Architecture Working Group and Architecture Review Board providing quality assurance across all architecture artefacts.
- Keeping up to date on industry trends and assessing new products and emerging technologies.
- Leading Solution Architectures across projects and initiatives, whilst ensuring solutions built adhere with Architecture Principles and further progress Citadel Edge’s (or our customers’) target state architecture.
- Leading analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend options for improvement.




- Leading and facilitating the creation of governance, assurance and standards to guide Architecture decision making, ensuring that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with EA compliance.
- Collaborating across ITS functions to translate our technology solutions to Enterprise Architecture roadmaps, and to identify, plan, and deliver Architecture work and demand across the portfolio.
- Applying a pragmatic, connected, and contemporary approach to Solution Architecture as an enabler of growth, continuous improvement, and thought leadership.

What’s Your Edge?

- Must have an NV2 Security Clearance (or minimum NV1 with eligibility to obtain NV2).
- 4-6+ years’ experience in information security with experience in security architecture and design.
- Experience in an Australian Defence or National Security context.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, AWS Security and Cloud Security Fundamentals.
- Information Security Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISM as well as vendor certifications such as AWS Certified Security (Specialty) and Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
- Experience across SIEM, Endpoint Detection, Azure Security, Email Security, Web Proxy/Security and Network Security solutions.
- Experience in vulnerability assessments, firewalls, content filtering, file integrity monitoring technologies.
- Highly desired but not required to have experience in software development or ICT infrastructure deployment, with specific experience in complex security operations environments.
