What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on engineer who can work across the full data engineering lifecycle — from source ingestion and ETL development through cloud data processing, quality, deployment and production support.

Candidates must demonstrate real project experience with both SAP Data Services/BODS and Google Cloud Platform, rather than exposure to only one of these technology stacks.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in SAP Data Services (BODS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our Data & Analytics / Platform Engineering team.

The role will focus on designing, developing, testing, deploying and supporting enterprise-grade data pipelines and datasets across cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments.

The ideal candidate will combine strong SAP Data Services / ETL engineering experience with practical Google Cloud data engineering skills, including technologies such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow and Cloud Composer.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, deploy and support data pipelines and ETL processes using SAP Data Services.
- Build and maintain scalable data integration solutions across SAP and Google Cloud environments.
- Develop data pipelines and datasets on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Work with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Composer and other GCP data services.
- Analyse, transform, integrate and curate data from multiple enterprise sources.
- Design and implement data structures for data lakes and data warehouses.
- Develop reusable ETL frameworks and data processing components.
- Perform data profiling, validation and reconciliation to ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Implement data quality controls, monitoring and reporting.
- Support data catalogue, metadata management and data governance activities.




- Troubleshoot data pipeline failures and resolve production issues.
- Implement automation across data engineering, testing and deployment processes using DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
- Collaborate with application, cloud, architecture, governance and business teams.
- Prepare technical documentation covering data pipelines, mappings, dependencies and operational procedures.
- Support Change, Incident and Problem Management processes in a production environment.
- Ensure data pipelines are secure, resilient, scalable and suitable for business-critical workloads.

Must-Have Skills
- 2 years hands-on experience with SAP Data Services / SAP BODS.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Practical experience with one or more GCP data services such as:
- BigQuery
- Cloud Storage
- Dataflow
- Cloud Composer
- Dataproc
- Strong experience in ETL/ELT and data pipeline development.
- Good understanding of data modelling, data warehouses and data lakes.
- Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems and sources.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Understanding of data quality, metadata and data governance.
- Experience with CI/CD, automation and DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
- Robust troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

Good to Have
- Experience with SAP BusinessObjects.
- Experience with AWS data services.
- Experience with Tableau or other BI/reporting platforms.
- Experience with TIBCO Data Virtualization / TIBCO Spotfire.
- Experience with data orchestration and workflow automation.
- Knowledge of Data Mesh and Data Product concepts.
- Experience working with platform engineering or product operating models.
- AWS Data Engineer – Associate certification.
- Experience in financial services / financial markets.
- Experience working with highly regulated, mission-critical or enterprise environments.
