About the role

Creswick Dental Centre is seeking a Dental Assistant or Trainee Dental Assistant for a reliable, long-term permanent position offering approximately 32–38 hours per week.

We will consider either an experienced dental assistant or a motivated applicant without dental experience who is willing to enrol in and complete the HLT35021 Certificate III in Dental Assisting.

Previous dental experience is desirable but not essential. For a trainee, maturity, reliability, initiative, enthusiasm and a genuine willingness to learn will be more important than previous experience.

Key responsibilities

- Providing chairside assistance during a broad range of dental procedures
- Preparing and turning over the treatment room
- Cleaning, sterilising and maintaining instruments
- Following infection-control procedures
- Supporting and reassuring patients
- Maintaining clinical supplies and keeping work areas organised
- Assisting with other clinical and practice duties as required

- Be punctual, dependable and committed to reliable attendance
- Have reliable transport to Creswick for every rostered shift
- Be able to learn quickly and work efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Be organised and able to prioritise competing tasks
- Show initiative and take responsibility for completing tasks
- Respond positively to instruction and feedback




- Communicate warmly and professionally with patients and colleagues
- Demonstrate good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Have a genuine interest in dental assisting and long-term employment
