We’re looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team at Kawana Dental.

This role will be predominantly Dental Assisting, with a little time spent helping our reception team when needed, so it’s a great fit for someone who enjoys the clinical side of dentistry but also likes variety and interacting with patients beyond the treatment room.

We’re open to full-time or casual, and would love to hear from experienced Dental Assistants looking for a great team and workplace to call home.

Kawana Dental is a busy, family-owned practice just minutes from Buddina Beach. We’ve been looking after the Sunshine Coast community for almost 40 years, but what we’re probably most proud of is the team and culture we’ve built along the way.

For our full-time team, 38 hours are worked across four days, giving you a regular day off each week for life admin.

We’re also big on helping our team grow. We have a large clinical team, modern technology and plenty of variety, so there are always opportunities to learn, develop your skills and gain experience across different areas of dentistry.

About the role

Most of your time will be spent working alongside our Dentists and Oral Health Therapists and Hygienist,



helping provide a great experience for our patients and keeping our clinical days running smoothly.

Your role will include

- Chairside assisting

- Preparing and turning over treatment rooms

- Sterilisation and maintaining high infection control standards

- Helping patients feel comfortable and well looked after

- Working closely with the wider clinical team

- Assisting our reception team from time to time with patient enquiries, bookings and general front-office duties

The reception component is only a sprinkle, but we’d love someone who is comfortable jumping between the clinical and front-office sides of the practice when needed.

We’d love to meet you if you:

- Have previous Dental Assisting experience

- Enjoy working in a busy, team-focused setting

- Are friendly, reliable and organised

- Have great communication skills

- Naturally make patients feel welcome and comfortable

- Are comfortable helping being trained on, and helping reception when required

- Are available for shifts that start from 7:15am and finish between 5:00pm and 6:00pm

- Have Dental4Windows experience, although this is a bonus rather than essential!
