At the same time, the Department of Primary Industries is undertaking a significant organisational renewal, establishing a new executive leadership team and positioning itself to better support industry, customers and regional communities into the future.

The Deputy Director-General, Primary Industries Management will play a pivotal role in shaping that future.

The Opportunity

This is one of Queensland's most influential industry leadership positions, responsible for guiding the strategic direction and performance of the state's primary industries portfolio.

Leading a substantial and diverse group spanning agriculture, fisheries, forestry and research, you will oversee the policies, programs, partnerships and investments that help drive long-term industry growth, resilience and sustainability across Queensland.

With responsibility for an operational budget of approximately $393 million, you will provide strategic leadership across industry development, applied research, innovation and commercialisation, ensuring the department remains focused on delivering practical outcomes for industry, communities and the broader economy.

As a key member of the department's DPI Leadership Board, you will help shape organisational priorities while ensuring Queensland's primary industries remain well positioned to respond to emerging opportunities, market shifts and future challenges.

agribusiness or a related field, you will have demonstrated experience leading large-scale, complex portfolios and translating strategy into meaningful outcomes.
