About the role The objective of this role is to support the design, development, verification, validation, and production of orthopaedic implants and instruments throughout the product lifecycle. This includes recent process and product development as well as continuous improvement of existing processes and products.

Key responsibilities

- Assist the Engineering Manager in providing key technical engineering support to projects

- Develop and manage project plans and timelines within the scope of new product development guidelines

- Project planning including budgeting, design inputs, design outputs, design verification, design validation and design transfer to production

- Coordination of user requirements for design review meetings

- Identify design and performance requirements for implant and instrumentation systems

- Generation of design input documents

- Generation and coordination of design outputs

- Develop and execute verification and validation protocols in accordance with medical device design control requirements

- Development of concept designs and coordination of prototype manufacture

- Identify, coordinate and execute Engineering Change Requests

About you

- Minimum of Bachelor of engineering – mechanical or biomedical

- Knowledge of ISO 13485 quality management systems

- Experience using CAD software

- Experience with medical device product development (preferred)





- Experience with engineering drawings

- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including evaluation of stresses, strains, and displacements under physiological loading conditions

- Engineering experience with machining and manufacturing technology

- Efficiency and time management skills

- Ability to work within a team effectively

- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
